“3 clear days” calculator
Notice of a parish or town council meeting must be published at least three clear days before the meeting (LGA 1972, Sch 12). The day you publish and the day of the meeting don’t count — and neither do Sundays or bank holidays (s.243). This calculator shows every counted and disregarded day, so you can minute your working.
Covers England & Wales bank holidays (source: GOV.UK). Some business — e.g. certain employment or standards matters — may require longer notice; where a statute requires more than three clear days, count the same way. This tool is guidance, not legal advice.
